I'm on my way to making my first Tesla Coil and I have a few Questions.....

Which is the best Tank circuit? Capacitor in Parallel, or series with the
X-Former?

When you use the "balanced" system with a cap on both sides of the primary,
Do you split the primary capacitance between the 2? i.e. .0060 MFD tank
cap.--.0030 MFD on each side?

Instead of a "Strike-Ring", could I construct a small grounded Faraday Cage
from chicken wire or wire mesh and place it over the Primary?

How do you determine the optimum break rate for rotary systems?

Is it beneficial to place a second toroid, insulated from the first, on
top? If so, is it the same size as the first?

How long will the typical Neon last in this application?

Is it against any "Moral Law of Coilers" to use a home-brew Tesla Coil for
a commercial display application? i.e; for a display during a Rave or Concert?
