"Aircraft electrical systems are 24VDC the same way automotive systems
are 12 and 6VDC. The 28 volt is the charging voltage. The batteries are
24 volt."
	MIL-STD-704 specifies a nominal 28 volts, but requires opration
down to 22? volts without degradation.  By the way, I have a large
lead-acid aicraft battery here which has 14 cells, not 12!
