Hi Robert and All

Sorry for length of time to answer. Been away.

Transformers are running in air. No coating has been applied to the
outside of the windings after the operation to insulate the hv leads
other than corona dope. I have about 30 minutes on them so far at levels
of a few amps to 30(+) amps input.

I think that one reason I may be having fewer problems with these
transformers and in general with neons is that I run =only= sync-gaps.
Like my = signs.
