Re: NST testing
Hi all, Jeremiah,
Mkay, I'm assuming you've started tinkering with that NST already,
with the jacob's ladder and such. One mention I haven't seen
anybody mention,
On my 9/60 I can draw the arcs from one terminal to the other out
to around 1.5-2 inches long, and around an inch from the terminal
to the case. If the outputs of the two sides are dramatically
different, then you may have a carbon track starting in the potting
of the xformer. If it's tar, a quick re-melting will fix that.
(well, it isn't really quick, but it does work). If you're getting
nice hot fat arcs, you're all set! Have fun, and keep it safe!
