Hi Bill...


there should be 2 new rules concerning Coil construction....

1. Static Air gaps REQUIRE an Air flow for operation...

2. Absolutely under no circumstances will there be any wire run inside a
Coil form...



i look at it this way...   why do you think they are called STATIC gaps
:) no movement    lets move some air thru there...


and if streamers can arc 20+" thru air  (they would rather arc 6" over
an insulator , ive proven this one) and the wire is inside the coil at
any point, its gonna arc there  

and if the "scratch " you found is like a miniature lightning bolt
pattern you had arcing problems for sure...
