Re: Possible Record
Dear Terry, Nick, et.al.,
I must disagree with what Nick wrote below. I have had many
first-hand experiences working on Project Tesla (when it was at
Wendover, Utah,) and know for a personal fact that the longest
discharge (straight line) from the extra coil, was just over 55 feet
(inside the quanset-style hanger.) I have 100's of feet of 16 mm
film footage, that I took myself, over 1977-1980 period from that
operation. I also have many 35mm color transparanices that document
all of the equipment and its performance. I also know from past
correspondance with Toby Grotz (who worked on Golka's project after
he moved the operation to Leadville, Colorado,) that this system
never approched, let alone equaled or exceeded, the performance Bob
obtained at Wendover. The reason why I know that Bob's best
performance was just over 55 feet, is because I climbed up the roof
bracing in the hanger, and dropped a plumb line down to the corona
point, that was placed on top of the conical top-most 10 or so turns
on Bob's extra coil. Having marked this distance, I climbed back
down and then measured the lenght of line. (The steel bracing
members in that hanger probably handn't been cleaned in more then 40
years and when I came down, I had to take off all my cloths and take
a shower! It was *that* dirty up there! BTW, Bob had no hot water
in the hanger, so one had to "disipline" one's self, to the idea that
a *really* cold shower was a *good thing!!* Needles to say,
the lenght of time spend in 40 degree shower water was kept to
the absolute minimum!
Best regards,
Bill Wysock.
