I see I mis-stated my observation as to Fr's. I set up my
expanded/delayed sweep so that I could spread out 1 Fr cycle (about 140
KHz) over 6.2 cm of sweep. For a cycle prior to spark break-out I
measured 6.2 cm. For a cycle well after break-out I measured, as best I
could, 6.3 or 6.4 cm. For the latter cycle there was ~ 1 cm of jitter,
spark-to-spark, so the measurement was approximate. But I'm pretty sure
it was as stated as I had a spark-rate of only ~2/sec so could eyeball it
fairly well. That's ~0.1 part out of 6.3 or so, or ~1.6% difference,
max.
My scope has a digital-delay sweep plug-in and so, after I finish some
minor modification work, I'll try to use that to substantially eliminate
the jitter.
