The pole pig is single phase, and you will get 7200 volts by feeding in 240
volts to the two outside contacts on the low voltage side. The 12,470 volts
is for a Y-connection between three such transformers. You cannot get 12,470
volts from only one transformer using 240 volts.
I see no real disadvantage to using it in Tesla application. You would take
the high voltage from the bushing and the transformer tank. The seller has a
backyard full of pigs. I would think that the seller would sell you another
unit at pick up time. Then you could connect the two in series for 14,400
volts.
