Re: Microwave Component

I also cannibalized that inverter style microwave oven and found a very
strange item, it is a round flat disk that was at the end of what looked
like a plastic wave guide? It also had two thingys that i thought were
thermistors of some sort mounted at different points of the metal
cavity, but they are not thermisters?
If anyone with a strong curiosity has a chance to get one of these
inverter microwaves i suggest getting it. i still haven't figured out
how it could possibly work. i have some pics of it before disassembly on
my site at http://www.fortunecity-dot-com/meltingpot/syria/1210/id26.htm
I'll get them linked to a full size pic if anyone wants, you can see the
plastic wave guide on the top of the unit. also it is strange that the
transformer didn't seem to be enamel coated wire???
I have it in pieces now (and i kinda blew some of the pcb up playing
around, oops), this was cool that it had a Pfc. cap across the incoming
line voltage. these are some neet little critters, but i wonder what
kind of detector that little disk is?
well enough from the peanut gallery,
Marc M.
