You could also wrap the tube with saran wrap, then coat over that. Epoxy
does not seem to stick to it. I have made several 4" coils by wrapping a 4"
cardboard tube with saran wrap, then wound my coil on that, then epoxy'ed
it. Then I took the cardboard tube out (I had previously had it cut in two
before I wrapped it), then the saran wrap peeled out. I was left with a coil
with no form, only the epoxy holding it together. I called it my formless
coil. Better than sonotube, pvc, or acrylic because there is nothing but
air, and of course the coating, which you would have on any coil. I tried
making coils with a bunch of coatings and epoxy was the strongest. It is
pretty strong, but I would still not want to drop one on the ground, that is
the downside. But anyways, saran wrap does not seem to stick to coatings for
some reason.

If you dont greese the tube the resin will stick to the tube.
