Wardenclyffe & Finally, An SRSG!!
Original poster: "S.Gaeta by way of Terry Fritz <twftesla-at-qwest-dot-net>" <sgtporky-at-prodigy-dot-net>
Hi All,
I took a trip out to Shoreham yesterday morning because I had nothing better
to do. I found the site of Tesla's lab on Tesla Street, and for all you
history buffs out there I posted some pix at:

Be warned, unless you are a real history buff, these are the most boring
pictures I ever took. I don't recommend visiting this landmark unless you
happen to find yourself there for some other purpose, in Winter. The area is
all overgrown and fenced in, and the guard at the gate will not let you in.
I couldn't get a good pictures of the lab.
Are there any Geeks here on Long Island? The guard informed me that the
place is for sale for only $350,000! The catch is that you gotta clean it
up, and it is a super-fund site. It would be a cool place for a Tesla museum
and Teslathon site, and there is a house on site for the head Geek to live
in!
Terry, before you deep six this post, here is an on topic announcement!
I finally got my sync gap running! Yes, Sue's got a rotary!!!
Years ago, I said I would never build one, but that remark went the way of
my '1 foot spark goal' when last year at Grande Junquetion I found a 1/20
horse sync motor that I just couldn't pass up. I figured 'maybe one day when
I have access to a machine shop, and learn some skills.......' But Chris W.
prodded, and incouraged me not to let the cobwebs form. He cut a nice
lightweight 6" disk for me and at that point there was no turning back!
Thanks Chris!!!
John Freau's perfectly timed post to that returning coiler got me on the
right track for the gap size at electrode alignment. Thanks John!!!
The pix of the rotary, the Freau-esque phase contoller, and runs are at:

Cheers,
