Jason,
There are many reasons why one gap type is better than the other,
for a certain case, depends on your cap size, etc. If the cap is
small, you may need a higher bps to get long sparks, because
with a small cap size, the bang size will be small. In that case
you will need to grow the spark via bps. Async gives more
leeway for an imperfectly designed coil.
