I do not remember seeing any diode like that at all, there were only two
wires attached to the cap. The one terminal on the cap had two slide on
connection peices, perhaps it fell off while I opened the microwave, or some
time before than. I'll have to look around my workspace. Didn't you mention
to Chris Telford that many lower voltage diodes in series may be used? Is it
ok just to run one tranny unballasted? These things are astonishingly small
compared to unpotted NST's.
