Hi Mark,
If the cap was made by Sanyo and the rated output of the oven is 600W or
less the diode will be inside the cap can. The Cathode (bar, not arrow side)
of the diode is connected to the case of the cap can. The cap can will have
a mounting tab on the bottom that allows a reliable connection to chassis
ground for the diode. That is the third terminal. The anode of the diode
(arrow side) is connected to the terminal which connects to the magnetron.
The other (input) terminal connects to the HV terminal of the MOT.
