Re: pulse cap

So far so good with my little 810 watt coil. I started using that particular
type of capacitor two months ago when I finished my mini rotary gap for that
coil. My previous cap bank took up so much room that I couldn't fit the
rotary on the platform so I had to reluctantly go with the smaller cap.
There was no decrease in performance, in fact there was a slight increase in
perfomance probably due to the increase in value (my old cap was .024 uf)
rather than due to the type of cap, and after a 4 minute run the cap felt
cold. There are no pics of this coil with the baby rotary yet. When I am
finished with my faceting projects I will get some pics of this setup. It's
only been two months though, and I only fired the coil up 5 times. If the
cap blows up I will let everyone know.

I also used the same capacitor (I bought two) in a smaller coil using a 5/60
NST and it works superbly!

Cheers,
Sue
