For a beginner who just wants sparks, i would not recommend 
a TSG at first.  You can always add such refinements later if you 
want too.  It's easiest to just build a basic static gap such as the 
tcbor gap, or some other sort of multiple series gap.  A static gap 
can be rather simple, much easier than a TSG.
