Yes DC capacitors can work with AC, but it's very limited what you can do
without frying them. Why do you want to run AC through it?
Sounds like you have a big pulse cap.....what do the actual connections look
like? Are they big round flat pieces of metal, are they bolts, or something
else?
Can't help you with the insulators.......I don't know.
No way you could use it for Tesla coil work if that's what you were planning
to do. Wire exploding, ring tossing, can crushing, YES you can do all those
things!
How much capacitance does it have (microfarads?)
