RE: smalls coils and computers

In my vast experience (cough) with my three solid state coils, I'd more
willing to run my 4kV conventional coil
than the solid state coil around sensitive equipment.
What I observed is that the SSTC puts almost zero hash back into the 60Hz
input power line (as opposed to the
conventional coil.) HOwever, the RF fields generated by the SSTC are much
higher. I can easily pull a half-inch arc
from anything metallic within about 5-10 feet of my SSTC when operating.
My 4kV, 20mA conventional coil, I run for long periods of time almost on a
daily basis at work where computers and other
sensitive equipment are all over the place.
It may cause static on the phone lines though.

Will a small coil suitable for running on a desktop in my office cause
problems with pc's and phone systems etc running in building (ie next
office)?
I have read that solid state coils are quieter. Are they less likely to
cause interference?
