Hi Bart, David,
I think what David is saying is that a small transformer will see a
grossly oversized capacitor pretty much as a short circuit since
the transformer is unable to carry the load of charging the over-
sized primary cap within the alotted time between the sine wave
peaks ( I hope that I'm making sense).
