It will work... you could also use chicken wire...

Bear in mind that there's more to a screen/shield room than just covering
the walls with screening.  However, if you just want walls that are
grounded, so that you don't have to worry about streamers going through the
wall and starting a fire... 

Your problem is similar to that of shielding electronic equipment for
EMI/EMC... Check out the websites for places like Chomerics and other
suppliers of shielding materials and gaskets..  Lots of good background info.
