MOSFET Cooling

Hi All

With all this talk of fan-cooled heatsinks on SSTCs, OLTCs and the like, 
has anyone ever tried mounting their FETs/IGBTs on PC CPU heatsinks? These 
can be acquired for very little money, especially from obsolete CPU series.

I've been examining a Socket A (AMD) cooler that has come out of service 
due to a broken clip.  There's quite a reasonable mass there and decent 
little fan.
