"Propeller gap": reliability demonstration test status?

A few weeks ago there was much debate on the merits and safety issues
surrounding the "propeller gap" RSG design.
An experiment was suggested to see if any examples of this type of
construction would survive 1 week of continuous operation (not actually
commutating an operating Tesla coil, but just with the motor spinning).
I had reservations that any gap made with a plastic "hub" (especially soft
polyethylene) would be robust enough to survive.
Several list members replied that they would conduct this test with their gaps.
Did anyone actually perform this test with their rotary gap? If so, what
were the results?

Scott
