I am partial to 'Prodigal Genius', for general
history, tho some later books have benefits of added
research/findings.
I would add:
Experiments with Alternate Currents of High
Potential and Frequency
(Or close to that)
BY Tesla, available in reprint. Covers his earlier
HF work, 'iron cored' 'Tesla Coils', evolution to
air core, etc. Contains many of his demos. It does not
so fully represent his later practice (Colorado Springs).
