Josh: When using a vacuum tube transmitter with direct modulation it is
required to heat the fillament, in this case, to 8 volts but isolate the
filiment with some high voltage insulation. Usualy 1000 volts or so above
ground as the circuit is wired with tubes connected in series. This is a
filament transformer made to provide the 8 volts and high current with
enough isolation to opperate the tube well above groung potential.
