At this dia. the inverse cone will overcouple --- something to avoid.
Use a flat spiral. Start 1.5 inches from the sec. coilform (horizontal
distance) and start the first sec. turn approx 2.5 inches above the
horizontal plane of the primary coil.
The 9.5 inch dia. sec. coilform will work fine at this power level.
Those vac. sucker type spark gaps work really good with this power level.
If possible try to find an AC/DC motor so you can rectify the 120 VAC and
run it on DC to vary the speed. You will find a "sweet spot" with this
setup as you run the coil. The RQ gap works very good.
