Re: Quarter Wavelength Frequency

"There's no complaint with the '1/4 wave resonance' bit, it's
a perfectly good name for the fundamental resonance of a
structure clamped at one end and free at the other. It is
equivalent to 'LC' resonance."
'1/4 wave resonance' describes the resonance of a distributed system
such as the vibrating beam or a vertical wire. 'LC' resonance describes
a lumped-constant system such as a spring supported mass or a parallel
LC circuit. I suspect that all of the modern TC's with top loading
toroids approach the lumped constant case very closely.
