Bargain Bags tend to not be suitable for Tesla Coil use. . . . What
is the make, model, and part number of the capacitors you've purchased?
The voltage rating used will depend on the type of caps you have. A
self-healing, high-current type should be able to use the DV cap
voltage. A self-healing, low current type will want significant
derating to bring the current down to a managale level (more
strings). A non-self-healing cap, like mica, will want even more derating.
The AC rating of a 1500V film cap will be around 500VAC depending on
make and model.

I bought a bargin bag of .1 uf 1500 VDC caps on ebay for an MMC
cap. I forgot how to figure the AC rating of a capacitor if I know
the DC rating. What is the AC rating of a 1500 VDC cap?
