Javatc update
Original poster: "Barton B. Anderson" <bartb@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Hi All,
I put up another small update to Javatc.
http://www.classictesla.com/java/javatc.html
The addition is a C reference to the tank cap size needed (for the
inductance calc'd) to resonate the primary circuit at the secondary frequency.
The primary cap size entered as an input is the "actual" cap size
which is used for various outputs. Sometimes because a coiler doesn't
know what to use for any given inductance, a reference is handy (it
is only a reference). You still need to enter a cap size in the
inputs if you want to calc certain outputs. However, you could just
leave the primary cap size blank, calc the circuit, reference the new
C output, then enter the reference C value, and recalc. This way,
your not wasting time recalculating (or worse, guessing).
Javatc does not "dictate" inputs, including C. This gives coilers
freedom to play with various scenarios and is why this type of thing
is only a reference. For example, I run my coils detuned a few
percent high on inductance, and I need freedom with C and L.
The equation used:
C = 1 / (4 x PI^2 x F^2 x L),
where,
C = Size needed to meet (Sec Freq = Pri Freq)
F = Secondary Frequency
L = Primary Inductance
The download pc version is of course updated as well.
Take care,
Bart
