Re: MMC caps
Original poster: Vardan <vardan01@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Hi Robert,
Why does the voltage have to be so high?
16kV should only need 16 x SQRT(2) = ~23kV
I am thinking a 12 long by 7 wide array of 150nF 2kV caps would work.
That would be 24kV at 95 amps RMS and 3000 amps peak. If the
voltage goes higher buy say 50%, the MMC caps don't care.
Cheers,
Terry

Hi all,
I am wanting to build an MMC with a rated capacitance of 80-90nf and
around 50kv and I will be feeding it 16,000 vac at around 500ma. Can
anyone tell me what would be a good MMC cap for this job?
Thanks in advance,
Robert
