Original poster: Vardan <vardan01@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Hi,You might consider a light dimmer control. They are light weight and cheap. Sometimes they burn up and short full on so have a second switch and be sure it is ok if the coil suddenly gets full power. You could just use a "switch" too. I think the dimmers for ceiling fans (inductive load) might last longer.
Maybe someone with more knowledge here will know? Cheers, Terry At 11:46 AM 5/13/2006, you wrote:
I have several small spark gap coils sitting around. None exceed 600 watts so... I, with your help, would like to design a controller for these small coils. I just don't see the purpose of hauling around a variak theat weighs more than the coil itself. Mainly, I need an idea to get started "yea, I know that's the toughest part" Thanks in advance for your help Coiler Forever: Jeremiah Popp
