I've tried my best to help fellow coilers. I sent, at my own
cost, several 240V, 25A (approx...don't remember now...might have
been 25A... They were huge though haha) variacs to a few
guys. Gave a few to others locally. I was going to send 5 HUGE
spools of 12g wire to the Geek Group, so they could build the world's
largest coil, but they ran into snags and Chris Boden never gave me
an address where to send it. It was miles of wire and would, even
though stranded and THHN covered, have made one helluva secondary. I
Imagine there would have been about 5000 or more turns so the
insulation would have been sufficient.....or heck...they could have
used it for about anything. I moved and wound up taking it to a
recycler. The only thing I ever got for my troubles was thank yous
and one shrunken quarter from Bill the Arcstarter when I met him in
person years ago....lol I gave away hundreds of dollars worth of
good equipment back then, because I could. I was literally saving
the stuff from the dumpster at work. We had so many projects that
required tons of equipment and it would pile up in the bone
yard. The guy in charge of keeping up with it would buzz me and let
me know that I should go through and get what I wanted before the
seasonal clean ups.
I'd donate whatever I could to you if you actually tried to
build a Tesla transmitter of the size/scale he did and really try to
make it work. Somehow, I don't see that happening though.
Best Regards,
Mike
There's many projects I'd like to work on, if I could JUST get
everyone else to help pay for them. ;^)))
