Hi Ed,
I was just using a small OBIT, 23mA 10kV, so there is very little heat in
the gap. For 60 or 120mA I'd probably switch to bakelite. I don't know if
they sell G10 in tube form... not sure I could afford it in any case.
The originals used glass cups, and blew compressed air through the segments
to keep them cool.
Once the workshop is back in order I'll try and make one for a 5kV 120mA
neon transformer. I have some of the aluminum disks still. Maybe I'll
switch to 1/4" diameter tungsten though for the higher currents.
