Subject: [TCML] Table top Magnifier
Hello Everyone
I wanted to show everyone my latest Tesla project.
A table top, plug and play Magnifier.
I have photos at this link http://www.flickr.com/photos/21962809@N02/
I've always wanted a small table top coil that I could plug in anywhere
and have a lot of fun with. So I built this coil out of parts I had "in
stock".
I also have been using this as a study coil
to learn more about theory of opperation. Using LT Spice and Exel spead
sheets
and of corse the Pupman List I have been able to examin it's operation like
never before.
I still have a lot to learn and
I still have some tweeking to do but this close enough for now.
Specs are as follows:
Transformer: Oil burner ignition xformer, 10kv @ 23ma
Capacitor: 8.9nf mica paper RFcap, 45kv BIL
Spark Gap: 3 gap quenched gaps, Gap width set to the max!
Primary Coil: 55uH, 15 turns 1/8 dia cu tube, 8.5" dia .25" pitch
Secondary Coil: 3.7mH, 200 turns 20awg, 6" dia x 7" long
Primary/secondary Coeffient of Coupling: .5
Extra Coil: 24.77 mH, 1083 turns 30awg, 3.5" dia x 13" long
Top load: Spun aluminum 4" x 12"
Max spark length: 16-17"
Thanks everyone hope you enjoy
David
