Re: gold secondary
Original poster: Terrell Fritz <terrellfone@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Hi,
There is no electrical or performance
advantage. Gold is a little more resistive but
it really would not matter. If you like the
"look", this place has wire in just about every
color but the insulation is questionable
(decorative wire) so you would have to coat the
coil really well. Gold wire is pretty
fragile. You mostly see the coating on it anyway.
The primary would like gold plate since the bare
copper tends to tarnish and discolor. A gold
leaf or plated top load would be cool too but might be easily scratched up.
But the important thing to know is that there
would be no electrical or performance advantage.
Cheers,
Terry
