Re: Inductance and the acceleration of charge
Original poster: Ed Phillips <evp@xxxxxxxxxxx>
Hi,
Yeah! Get that all worked out and report back :o))
The best measure of inductance is a darn good metering system...
The second is a darn good program...
The third is a darn good equation about 100 years old beginning with
the name "Wheeler's"...
There are "no" others...
Cheers,
Terry"
Slight quibbles - Wheeler's original paper had formulae for
"short" and "long" coils andwas published in 1928. That's 2 years
younger than I am and I'm not "about 100 years old" although these
days it sometimes feels like that when I get up in the dark and drive
off to work.......... The Radiotron Designer's handbook (any edition
- I have 3rd and 4th) lists several different simple inductance
formulae which are good for coils on almost any L/d ratio.
