Hey Finn:

First you build a spark gap, then an ARSG.  After that an SRSG.
Then you re-design the power supply to use DC resonant charging.

Starting out with SISG is cheaper, albeit a bit more complex.

MOT's are free as well.

True from a bleeding edge point of view.

However:

 From an economic point of view, a good mechanical static spark gap
is hard to beat.
