Hi Aaron,
Yes, I would definitely view that claim with skepticism, too.
To obtain 8 ft. discharges from a VTTC, I would think
that a power requirement closer to "80" kW than "8" kW
would be required, unless they are running in low duty
cycled "stacatto" mode. Even then, I still think that you'd
be hard pressed to "milk" 8 ft arcs from "only" 8 kW input
power.
