Nice!
Have you looked at this gaps potential? I'm assuming the cylinder
electrodes are tungsten or thoriated tungsten at about .25" diameter.
This gap with a total gap spacing of 0.254" will arc at about 6,250
volts. As this gap has cooling fins for each electrode, and if the
electrodes are as mentioned, this gap could handle a higher voltage
efficiently with air cooling.
Are the fins a single machined part or a cascade of discs? I'm assuming
the easiest method to do the fins is a single cast part.
