Bart, all,

	I can attest that 'as received', unplated tungsten balls from
McMaster Carr silver braze readily to stainless steel with only the normal
acid flux preparation.  This probably means they will nearly certainly braze
to any normally easily brazeable material.  I am not sure that this has to
do with your point, but it seemed relevant for me to chime in with my
experience.
