Re: [TCML] Magnetic Quenching
Adding to my post here:
The field for experimentation using magnetic quenching is
wide open. Various arrangements using permanent magnets,
electromagnets, pulsed magnets, magnets along with
static gaps, rotary gaps, triggered gaps, high power
quenching, low power quenching, etc., would all be
interesting to try.

Tony,
Various experiments have been done. Benefits were
claimed in some cases. Basically a gap will quench when
the energy is gone. A faster quench may make it possible
to use tighter coupling without getting racing sparks (maybe).

Subject: [TCML] Magnetic Quenching
Hi all,
Just how effective is magnetic quenching, and has anyone experimented
with
using it, either by itself or in conjunction with other methods of
quenching?
