RE: [TCML] Arizona Teslathon Announcement
Hi Hank,
If anyone has a (4) 833 coil either in parallel or push pull. I would love
to see it as that is to be my final coil project (so I say now anyway). Is
"quadzilla" a clue? I have all the original Johnson sockets, grid, and plate
copper heat caps. A good selection of vintage micas. I have a BIG Sagamo
Mica that should be about right. I have a 4" polystyrene former, the wire,
and a staccato PCB. And of course the Valves.
This will be built on a nice wood end table I have stashed, the inner glass
plate replaced by polycarbonate. By the time I get to this I'll need to get
the neighbor's kids, by then grown ups, to move the plate transformer ;-)
I built the one in "Popular Electronics" in the early sixties with my Dad as
he cultured my interest in the trade. This will be my tribute coil to him.
It sure won't be as cool as yours but will be vintage electronics for sure
(if I hide the staccato circuit) ;-)
I also have two really cool very old radios in the attic for the days to
come. I'll have to join yet another list for those if we still are using
listservers or?
Jim Mora
Hope to see you in Arizona in March.

This years focus will be on VTTC coils as Dr. Spark will be auditioning

coarse, we expect all types of coils in the line-up. This years challenge is
He who has the oldest VTTC..the oldest so far is an old 811A rat coil
built in 1979still running with JAN WWII vintage tubes!
Lots of solid state, spark gap and music modulated coils will be displayed
as well as other interesting HV apparatus. If youve got it, bring it!
