ADS is even better (Agricultural Drain System) tubing to use for large
toroids.  It comes in various sizes including 6",8",12", 16", 24", and 36".
It's black, internally corregated, and reasonably flexible for building
large toroids.  I used extra strong plastic wire ties to attach it to a
1/8"th inch interior aluminum plate (lots of hole drilling) to reinforce
it.  ADS.com.
Try a Tractor Supply or Blaine's Farm & Fleet.
