Re: [TCML] Corian Adhesive
Brandon,
A few years ago, I tried to assemble some Corian pieces with common two
part epoxy. The parts came apart with the application of a little stress.
TTBOMK, Corian is a suspension of mineral powder in acrylic plastic,
much like polymethyl methacrylate (AKA Plexiglas). The official Corian
adhesive is a color matched system that has solvents that partially
dissolve the parts to be bonded, and fuse them all into a homogeneous
and continuous block.
If I were looking for a strong bond, I'd go with the official DuPont
adhesive.

Hello List,
I'm building my primary supports out of a couple of sheets of Corian
used in counter topping. Being similar to HDPE counter material, I was
just wondering if anybody here has used this stuff before. Should I
use some DuPont Corian adhesive(caulking like tube), or should I just
slather on some two part epoxy? I don't know if the Dupont stuff will
be so durable in comparison to the epoxy... Again, I'm just wondering
if anybody has any experience working with this stuff that could give
me a word of advice before I go messing stuff up.
Thank You,
Brandon
