 This coil has run sync. from day one which was 1999.  At first I tried 240
BPS, but power consumption was huge and only got 14 foot sparks. I went to
120 BPS and its been happy every since.  The cap is .173 uF Maxwell (two
.346 uF in series) since the beginning also.  It would probably run ok at
higher break rate with smaller cap. but its proven to be very reliable in
its present configuration which is what I want. Looking at an upgraded
toroid this summer though.
