Re: [TCML] ANOTHER ONE DOWN, ANOTHER 37667 BITES THE DUST

Oh right, my mistake, i just transposed the info wrong.
Alright so a very long time between runs. good to know.
At least this means that my coil is doable. good news! maybe I wont have to redesign the secondary after all.

Thanks,

HI
was 4 strings operating breaks are quite long (several 10's of minutes)

Ohhh now that is convenient!!
My system will be pretty much the same when it is done, DC, 24kv pk, but
only 6kva not 10, and at 90Khz too.
So your using 3 strings of 15 .33uf 1600v does the trick you say for less
than 2 min runs.
How long between runs to you leave the coil to cool down?

Hi

Nice to see Robin is still on the list too,

My case is 300 bps (actually sync with mains but not important with DC
supply) DC operation from 6 MOT secondary's in series (in oil) with
resonant charging (10Hy from 4 gapped MOT secondary's 2 // then 2 of that in
series) giving about 24 kv peak (never actually measured it) but I do have a
Pete Terren inspired DC or AC Voltmeter (a digital one and an analogue one
actually) capable of measuring up to those voltages, if the weather ever
permits I'll check to see if I'm getting the theoretical value.

Just love the control and smoothness of DC operation

hmmm, these caps might be useful to me.
Just out of curiosity , what bps and voltage are you running at?

When I do my calculations, my biggest problem is the RMS current being too
high requiring large series numbers to make up for it. But i have been
collecting data on peoples coils to see how far they are pushing the limits
on the various CDE caps.
