[TCML] Oil-Cooled 12-Series 1/2" Tungsten Spark Gap
Hey all,
Here is the initial hydraulic(?!) test of a new design of stationary spark gap for pole pigs.
The gap is being installed in a museum Tesla Coil that I'm dedicating to the memory of Bill Wysock.
It is nothing extraordinary as a Tesla Coil (no Guiness records, haha!) but is still quite large being made with a certain
care and curiosity.
The idea on the gap was to drill and ream 1/2" holes in 1" x 2.5" x 4" aluminum blocks to accept the tungsten, and then drill ports to flow oil thru
the heatsinks to make sure they stay cool.
A youtube of everything before its "made neat".

The bases to this coil are 2" thick GPO-3.. $$$ but really nice looking!
