As Bayley pointed out, QCW sparks from a DRSSTC or Tube coil make for more impressive high speed footage. You can actually see the spark grow throughout it's lifetime. Here's a video I posted a few years ago that shows the sort of effect you can capture with only 1000FPS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfH7p8C-a6g On Wed, Nov 27, 2013 at 8:16 PM, Bayley Wang <wang9xb17@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > You'd probably have more luck doing capture of a QCW DRSSTC; DRSSTC > streamers are fairly boring in high speed (e.g. I took this video at > 1000FPS and all you see is the spark flickering on and off > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kddpTutF8KA) > To get good shots of DRSSTC streamer growth probably requires 100,000+ FPS > (so you'd get 10 frames in a 100uS bang). > > > On Wed, Nov 27, 2013 at 8:27 PM, JJ Dasher <redrum0381@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > >> >> >> Tesla coil discharges generally do not show well in slow motion.
