I've been playing with a small cone coil and tried these caps in place my old TCBOR oil caps, that are Very bulky. The coil is 6.5" at base , 1.75" at top with winding length of 13.5" of #22 wire , 3" sphere on top . Primary is 1" copper strap. With 7500/60 , .008mfd cap and static gap getting 7" - 8" max. I may be a little under coupled ? as first turn of banded primary is 2" from first sec. turn . I was going for the 'antique' coil look , but with a little work may do better ? Using on a 7500/60 neon right now, may move up to 9000/60. > > > > How much abuse can these take ? I'm guessing heat is a concern. Working well on small coil now. Short runs . Maybe someone here has used them and can comment. > > > > 4000MMFD is equal to .004 mfd. ?
