From my experience with oil-filled transformer guts, this tape appears to be that really sticky plastic film tape, with the 1/16” to 1/8” spaced parallel nylon filaments, that give it that extra tear resistance. Seems it would prove somewhat problematic getting the tape’s adhesive to ‘stick’ to the oil-soaked guts of your transformer at this stage, though?
