Re: [TCML] More fun with wireless power

David,
For clarification Tesla's radio controlled boat was not remotely
powered. It was designed to demonstrate the wireless control of moving
vessels or vehicles.
If you look at his Patent No.613,809 from November 8th, 1898 you will
see "E" Storage Batteries as the motive force for propulsion and
steering in many of the drawings. Also starting on line 375 of the
patent, in Tesla's own words, he describes using storage batteries for
propulsion and steering. Also he speaks of Storage Batteries in some of
the interviews he gave (I don't have the exact reference handy at the
moment).
Many claims have been made about his wireless boat demonstration but
the facts are in black and white in his own writing!

The power distribution Tesla had in mind was power for radios and small
motors. I don't think Tesla ever got the idea that industrial scale power
transmission would replace the present wire grid. Tesla's thinking was
along the lines of low power lighting, small motors, and self-powered
communications devices for the average person. Tesla actually built a
working model of remote controlled submarine that was powered and
controlled through wireless power. <snip>
